Wave soldering operation process
Wave soldering is to make the soldering surface of the plug-in board directly contact the high-temperature liquid tin to achieve the purpose of soldering. The high-temperature liquid tin maintains an inclined plane, and a special device makes the liquid tin form a wave-like phenomenon, so it is called "wave soldering". The material is solder bars. At present, wave soldering machines basically use thermal radiation for preheating. The most commonly used wave soldering preheating methods include forced hot air convection, electric heating plate convection, electric heating rod heating and infrared heating.
Wave soldering operation step process
1. Preparation before wave soldering
Check the PCB to be soldered (the PCB has been coated with patch glue, SMC/SMD patch, glue curing and completed the THC insertion process) and whether the soldering surface of the socket and the gold finger and other parts of the attached component are coated with solder resist or Use high temperature resistant adhesive tape to stick to prevent the jack from being blocked by solder after the wave crest. If there are large-size slots and holes, use high-temperature adhesive tape to prevent the solder from flowing to the upper surface of the PCB during wave soldering. Connect the flux to the hose of the sprayer.
2. Turn on the wave soldering furnace
a. Turn on the power of the wave soldering machine and the exhaust fan.
b. Adjust the width of the wave soldering machine conveyor belt (or fixture) according to the width of the PCB.
3. Set wave soldering parameters
Flux flow rate: Determined according to the condition of the flux contacting the bottom surface of the PCB. Make the flux evenly applied to the bottom surface of the PCB. It can also be observed from the through hole on the PCB. A small amount of flux should penetrate upward from the through hole to the pad on the through hole surface, but not to the component body.
Preheating temperature: set according to the actual situation of the preheating zone of the wave soldering machine (the temperature of the upper surface of the PCB is generally 90-130℃, and the upper limit is taken for the assembly board with more large boards, thick boards, and SMD components)
Conveyor belt speed: set according to different wave soldering machines and PCB to be soldered (usually 0.8-1.92m/min)
In the tin pot, the temperature displayed on the meter or liquid crystal is about 5-10℃ higher than the actual temperature of the peak)
Measure the height of the wave crest: adjust it to exceed the bottom surface of the PCB, at 2/3 of the thickness of the PCB.
4. The parts are wave soldered and inspected (after all the welding parameters reach the set value)
a. Place the PCB gently on the conveyor belt (or fixture), and the machine will automatically spray flux, dry, preheat, wave solder, and cool.
b. Catch the PCB at the exit of wave soldering.
c. According to the factory inspection standards.
5. Adjust the wave soldering parameters according to the welding results of the parts
6. Continuous wave soldering production
a. The method is the same as the welding.
b. Catch the PCB at the exit of the wave soldering, put the PCB into the anti-static turnover box after inspection, and send the board for repair. The process will be attached.
c. In the continuous welding process, the quality of each printed board should be checked, and the printed board with serious welding defects should be welded again and again immediately. If there are still problems after repeated welding, the reason should be checked and the process parameters should be adjusted accordingly before welding can be continued.
7. The inspection standards are in accordance with the factory inspection standards
8. Matters needing attention:
a. The preheating temperature rise rate of reflow soldering does not exceed 3℃ per second, and the internal components are high-temperature heating components, and be careful of burns.
b. When passing the preating zone, the minimum spacing between PCB placement is 3cm.
c. When the wave soldering temperature is unqualified, immediately stop using it, and the relevant engineering department equipment personnel or engineers will check and adjust the wave soldering temperature before checking again. After the wave soldering temperature is judged to be qualified, it can continue to be put into the computer B board for operation.
d. The technician must check the temperature settings of the wave soldering every day and use a thermometer for actual measurement. The temperature must be within the specified range.
